Fitzpatrick should never have been in that situation

Sure every team (well every good team) has under a minute left drives that win the game for them.  Great quarterback thrive in that situation…For example, if the shoe was on the other foot you would be hard pressed to find someone who thought Tom Brady wouldn’t succeed.  But for the Bills fan Ryan Fitzpatrick while book smart is not very smart protecting the football or leading 4th quarter pressure driven drives with time running out.  Everyone is Buffalo although excited we had a chance to do didn’t want to say anything because it just doesn’t go that way for us…

The defense was horrible again all day, the only time they made plays was after Jackson fumbled on the 1 and they came up huge to get the Bills the ball back.  Where was that earlier in the game?  On the opening drive we had 2 opportunities to pick off the ball and give our offense a chance to have the lead.  As it worked out though we never had the lead the whole game.

Our offense isn’t that explosive to cover our defense’s blunders all game.  We play well when we can run the ball and grind the game down.  However when your defense lets up touchdowns quicker than Usain Bolt running the 40 it doesn’t give themmuch of a chance to win.  Wannstedt again failed and failed horribly.  If we actually play defense get some sacks and force them to punt the ball we could have actually won that game.  In my eyes Fitz, Jackson, and Spiller didn’t lose that game Wannstedt and coaching did again.

What are your thoughts on the game?

Dave Wannstedt and 4 NFL Coordinators Who Are Losing Their Jobs This Season

Dave Wannstedt seemed like the ideal coordinator to direct the Buffalo Bills’ new-look 4-3 defense. Instead, he has become just another symbol of failure for the downtrodden AFC East club.

What’s been most alarming is how soft Wannstedt’s group has been against the run. It defies belief that a front featuring defensive tackles Marcell Dareus and Kyle Williams, can be 31st in rushing defense.

Wannstedt has also failed to coax big production from prized free agent Mario Williams.

With the 3-5 Bills likely to again miss the playoffs, expect Wannstedt to be canned along with head coach Chan Gailey.

Wannstedt wasn’t born to win by Skip Bayless

At first glance, he looked so rough-and-tough imposing, so tall and strong and handsome. Not pretty-boy handsome. Steel-town handsome with black, combed-back hair and a mustache that said “I wouldn’t try that.” Dave Wannstedt is a Pittsburgh guy with a Pittsburgh brogue; and at first glance, he appeared to be a mix of Ditka’s volatility and Marino’s smoldering cool.

Here, I’d heard, was Jimmy Johnson’s Most Valuable Assistant. Here was The Next Great NFL Head Coach.

Dave Wannstedt

It was a long, long half a season for Dave Wannstedt in Miami.

Looks can be so deceiving.

What an ugly game

The Bills were dominated on every aspect of that game.  Personally I don’t understand why we have a kicker who we aren’t comfortable with over 40 yards.

The Defense played a little better but no where what we need or thought they would produce before the season.  Yes they held them to 21 points but they dominated us.  We still can’t stop the run and our players are just not in the right positions.  Why are our linebackers covering the tight ends?  We need major changes not tweaks.

Also even though Fitzpatrick went on a nice run with completions none of them were for more than 5 years in the air, and when he does throw the deep ball it is wildly unsuccessful.

So what is you biggest area of concern following that game?

What can we expect to see next Sunday from the Bills?

Even before the season started this game looked to be a loss, but more now then ever.  Super Mario undergoing surgery and who knows what we will get from him or if he will even play.  The whole defensive scheme in shambles and 0 changes.   The offense line banged up and Fitz not looking good this season…

This is shaping up to be a game I’m going to drink my ass off during and before and hope I don’t remember any of it…what do you think?

Should we have gone for the 2 point conversion?

Its easy to second guess calls a day or a week later but I still don’t see any reason to kick the extra point.  I know we thought we would get in the end zone again but with Fitzpatrick nothing this year has been automatic. If you don’t get the conversion you are still up by 5 which means they have to score a touchdown….

Again I know it’s easy to second guess after the face but Chan hasn’t been making smart calls this year.

What is Dave Wannstedt doing?

Every week I hope and pray that the coaches have figured out how to run the defense and look like one of the most highly paid defensive line in the NFL.  Every week I watch the game and scream at the TV and especially at Dave Wannstedt.  What is he doing?  He never blitzes and just drops back and lets the offense dictate the game.  When we play good coaches and good Quarterback we get destroyed.  It doesn’t take a genius to know that if you give Brady time he will light you up, the thing that pisses me off is that we let ‘Dirt Sanchez’ light us up too.

With the bye week coming after another horrible performance I was hoping that we would fire Dave Wannstedt and maybe actually pay defense…however if this was the case this webpage would not be here…

Whats wrong with Ryan Fitzpatrick?

Ever since signing his new contract Fitz has not been the same.  Up to this year the argument could have been made that it was his ribs but with the year that he has had so far that isn’t the case.

He can’t compete a pass for over 20 yards to save his life.  Maybe the question is not what’s wrong with him but whats wrong with us for paying him so much money!

Share your thoughts on the Buffalo Bills 3-4 start

Being a huge Bills fan and coming into this year with higher expectations then we have had in the last decade this 3-4 start is not acceptable.  The lack of defense has sparked a voice in me that I needed to share and help other Buffalo Bills fan share their thoughts.
