"Sometimes you have to take a step backwards before
you move forward. It happens like that sometimes."
Dave Wannstedt: November 5, 2004

Uhh, gee Dave, I thought the 9-7, 2002
season was that step errrrr backwards?

Sorry Dave but this is an FFFing moonwalk!

Wannstedt to keep starting lineup intact vs. Arizona

Let me try to explain the insanity of Wanny.

If this next game was against a team with a winning record, there ain't no doubt in my mind
that AJ Feeley would be starting. But since it's the 2-5 Arizona Cardinals, Wann's is looking
at this game as a possible win which in turn would extend his lifespan with the Phins.

This guy doesn't care about the future of the team! This guy's trying to save his ass from
being fired and he's hurting this team in the process.
This is Wann's reason familiar why he's starting Jay Fiedler against Arizona:

"Asked why, Wannstedt said, "Just the way he's practiced. ... You have to look at the protection. You have to look at the coverages that are being run, if guys are making plays
when they have an opportunity to make plays. And at this point, where we're at right now,
I believe Jay gives us the best chance."

Wann's keeps saying week-end and week-out that Jay gives
the Phins the best chance to win!

They're 1-7 God Damn it!

Here's some more Wanny rationalizations from the same piece:

"Every week is a new adventure," Wannstedt said. "People were showing us more defensive fronts and more things and doing twists and stuff than I can ever remember. Other coaches? Give them credit. They see a somewhat young, inexperienced group and they're not going to line up head-up on you and let you block them.

So they see a somewhat inexperienced group? WTF!

And how did we end up with a errrrr somewhat inexperienced group Dave! You've been here what, 5 seasons? You've had personnel decisions for what, 4 seasons? You've allowed how many free agent offensive lineman to get away in the
last couple of seasons? You failed to resign an EXPERIENCED
lineman Todd Wade and drafted Wade Smith.

How did we get here Dave? How did this team become the most
inept team in the history of the Miami Dolphins Dave? We got here because of you
Dave! We got here because of your staff Dave, the same
staff that you personally brought in Dave?

Dave, when you give props to other coaches who punk your ass week end
and week out, you're simply exposing to all who can see why you should
have been fired two seasons ago.

Dave! You Blow!

Ahhh the off-season. A time to reflect on the past football season, evaluate and take action to improve your football team. Well, after two straight seasons of missing the playoffs with a talented but aging team, the Miami Dolphins ownership decided to make a bold move and extend the contract of their head coach, Dave Wannstedt. We at firedavewannstedt.com shook our heads in disbelief upon the realization that we would have to keep this Geead Damn web site up for another year. OK..we got to do what weees got to do. So click here and let's eek out that one last benefit of the doubt for our beloved Miami Dolphins and see how it went this off-season.

Once upon a time I had a petition in this very spot. I don't think it did very well because most folks knew it was an exercise in futility. Plus, if you think that I'm gonna print the damn thing and deliver it to Wayne, well...no thanks. Wayne would probably extend Wanny's contract another 5 years just to piss me off. So, thanks to all who signed it and I hope it gave you a bit of a mental catharsis.

Don't worry Dave, if you get whacked by Danny er Wayne just click below.

I don't get as many as I use too, I wonder why?

Dave, your loyalty to Jay continues to amaze me.
It's inspired me to find the perfect song
